Dear IWCH Members,
What an empowering and inspiring luncheon we had on the 12th of October at Kalastajatorppa. This event showcasing Finnish fashion was a nice reminder of the positive opportunities and encounters which we have missed and can experience again. As evidence of that, there were many happy ladies that participated. Over 60 members attended. For me, Finnish clothing design and brands have always been close to my heart. It was a pleasure to give Anna Ruohonen, Believe by Tuula Rossi, Gemmi, Halo, House of Elliott, Katri Niskanen, Miam and Terhi Pölkki a possibility to introduce themselves in our show. Hopefully, the collections of these brands will bring you joy both for everyday use and for the upcoming festive season.
In a very short time, the world has changed and is changing like never before. There are many cause and effect relationships we don’t know or understand. Elina Ravantti, Communication and Public Affairs Director at Sitra will be our November Luncheon guest speaker. She will give us an introductory speech about the disruptive themes that the societies are facing in the future. You are warmly welcome to a new venue for the luncheon, Marski by Scandic on 9th of November at 11:30. Originally the hotel opened in 1962 and was built by Alko- owned Arctia Oy. This building, designed by Einari Teräsvirta, was renovated in 2018-2019.
Please sign up via the website https://www.iwch.fi/events for all our events. When you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email. Should you not receive a confirmation email please register again, or contact the event organiser directly.
Please note that the December luncheon will be Christmas Dinner on the 14th of December at Kansallissali, Aleksanterinkatu 44. The evening will begin at 18:30. We will have a wonderful celebration with good food and light entertainment.
Warm regards,
Leena Harkimo
